Helen R. Berube of Biddeford passed away on August 15 2024, in Gorham at the age of 87.
Helen was born on September 16, 1936 the daughter of Albert and Obeline (Begin) Paquet in Biddeford Maine. Helen worked at St. Andre's Health Care facility as a Dietary Aide and retired after 20 years. She enjoyed her work immensely and the residents loved her.
She was a loving Mother and Grandmother; she cared deeply for her family, and found great joy spending time with them. She enjoyed her Grandchildren's events and took great pride in each and every one of them. She had a wonderful sense of humor and nothing gave her more pleasure than making her people laugh.
Helen enjoyed entertaining at her home, she loved cooking and home decorating, especially around the Holidays, her home resembled a Hallmark Movie set. She enjoyed spending time with her Brother's and Sister's. They were often seen around town enjoying breakfast together after daily mass.
Helen was a devout catholic who prayed often for her large family, she had a fondness for St. Anthony and the Virgin Mary. She spent her mornings in her favorite rocking chair praying and reading about the lives of the Saints.
She was predeceased in death by her Son- in-Law Neill Baker; Brothers Raoul Paquet, Rene Paquet, Father Fernand Paquet M.M, John Paquet, Ben Paquet, Roger Paquet and Father Hubert Paquet. Sisters Jeanette Courtois, Simone Perron, Theresa Gagnon and Marguerite Poirier.
She is survived by daughters Jacqui Baker of Biddeford; Julie Berube and Fiancé James Bouthillette of Biddeford; Son Richard Berube and his wife Jessica of Sanford. Brother Gerard Paquet of Waterboro and six Grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank the Gorham House staff for their loving care throughout her 3.5 year stay.
The family would also like to thank Compassus Hospice for the wonderful care and comfort provided in her last days.
Visitation will be on Thursday, August 22, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm Street, Biddeford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday August 23 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph's Church, 178 Elm Street, Biddeford.
Following the Mass, family and friends are invited downstairs for a luncheon.
Hope Memorial Chapel is respectfully handling the funeral arrangements.
