Even though you are no longer here, I will still find you in a tin of assorted mints, or an impromptu bag of chips. I will find you in the sharp scent of TCP, or when Traffic Cops or Police Interceptors is on TV. I will find you in the soft clinking of pocket money left loose in envelopes, labelled with the sloping slant of your left handed scrawl. I will find you in pinky fingers that turn inward towards the tip and in wide, goofy, gurning smiles. I will find you in a packet of pork pies that don't quite make it to the checkout without being nibbled on first. I will find you in slow, aimless afternoon drives along the coast and in walking up the lane to collect the eggs. I will find you in tweed flat caps and the honk of the car horn around blind corners. In the morning porridge as ritualistic as a late morning coffee in town. And when I can find you nowhere else, I will find you in all these small, ordinary things and think of you. Sleep tight, Grandad.

Once met, never forgotten..
Incorrigible, daft, contrary, mischievous...
Wonderfully warm, with a boundless generosity for family and friends.
Love you and miss you, Dad. Always. Xxxx
