Marylea COLDBECK Obituary

COLDBECK (nee East) Marylea Elizabeth The family of Marylea Coldbeck wish to share the sad news of her death on 28th January 2025. Marylea was a beloved wife to Harry, wonderful mother to Mark, Stephen, Anna and Jonathan and step-mother to Tristan, and a very loving, devoted and proud Nana to Emily, Grace, Alexander, Christopher, Anastacia, Olly and Violet. Marylea was also a supportive and loving aunt to Kelvin, Stephane, Nick, Kate and Emma. Marylea was born in 1940 in Canada to Rey and Winnifred East, she was the eldest of 5 siblings, Marylea, Frances, Richard, Harold and Susan. The family moved to Canterbury when she was 16. As a young mother Marylea travelled and lived abroad in a number of countries around the world with her first husband, Peter Gay who worked for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Marylea settled in Walmer, Deal and worked as a Probation Officer in Kent from the 1980s until retirement. Marylea loved to garden and was a very talented knitter making many beautiful items for her family who treasure them. Marylea was very a thoughtful, kind and selfless person who went out of her way to support her friends and family wherever she could. We all feel blessed to have had her in our lives, and she will be sorely missed. She will always remain a role model for myself, her loving daughter, Anna.
