Jean RUTTER Obituary

RUTTER Jean It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jean Rutter, originally from Hendon, North London, who was residing in Sittingbourne, Kent for nearly 50 years. Jean passed away, 80 years young, following a prolonged illness at the nursing home she was living in on 30/1/2026. Jean had worked in the local Sainsbury's stores in Sittingbourne before retiring after 27 years of service. She had also worked at Freshbakes for many years before it closed due to
relocation in the mid 80s.
Jean will be very much missed by her remaining siblings, Marian, Lyn and Jim, and the massive hole she leaves in the hearts of her family, especially her children, Wendy, Jamie and Kirsty, her 9 grandchildren, her 8 great grandchildren, and all her non-human furry/unfurry children/grandchildren, including her dog, Stripe. Her family takes solace in her reuniting with her husband, Michael, and her little brother, Roy.
Her family invites you to celebrate her life with them on Tuesday 17th March 2026 at 11am in the chapel within the Sittingbourne Cemetery in Bell Road. Please wear something in her favourite colour, purple, even if it's just a touch.
