James SAVAGE Obituary

SAVAGE
James (Jim)
18th July 2023
Born 20th June 1939 in Didcot, Berkshire. Called to rest 18th July 2023 following a short illness.

Jim spent his national service as a Grenadier Guard followed by a 38 year career in the Her Majestys Prison Service, beginning in Dartmoor, followed by Bristol and finally settling in Canterbury in 1972. He was able to enjoy 24 years of retirement and travel the world.

He was an amazing husband, Dad, Grandad and Great Grandad. We take comfort in knowing he is now reunited with his beloved wife, Phyllis, who he cared so wonderfully for.

Special thanks to the staff on Clarke Ward, K&C, who took such great care of him and also fell for the Jim Savage charm.

Rest in peace Dad/Grandad. Thank you for your endless love, we will miss your story telling terribly x
Any donations in Jim's memory, please send directly to BRACE Dementia Research..

Hello everyone, I am so sad to hear about Jim's passing, I spent many good years with him in his time in HMP.CANTERBURY, he was the finest Princal Officer that I worked with, his demeanour and fairness was great it was good to know that, as i grew more into my own work alongside him he was my inspiration and he was admired by all staff and most of the inmates. It was a pleasure for me to work alongside him, I also hope that his children are all doing well. I am also retired for over 20 years. May he rest in peace God bless you all
