Ian was much loved by all the family. His impish sense of humour, boundless energy, and caring, loving nature are legendary. It is such a shame that having met his partner Renate just a few years ago, and found true lasting happiness, that he should succumb to cancer at such a young age. Although Ian had no children of his own, he was able to engage with them in a delightful way, and my daughter Helen, and son Robert have fond memories of him. Ian always tried to come to England for important family occasions, for example Rob's wedding in 2008 where he renewed friendships with our wider and ever-growing family. We in turn have met his partner Renate and her son Johannes with whom Ian had been so happy in recent years. All will remain in our memories and hearts. with love and respect, Martin & Kath Baldock
